Dear Karate BC Members,
Karate BC is pleased to announce the launch of the Women in Refereeing (WIR) Mentorship Program, a new initiative focused on supporting the recruitment, retention, mentorship, and development of female and gender-diverse referees across British Columbia.
The WIR Mentorship Program aims to foster leadership, confidence, and community within officiating by connecting developing referees with experienced mentors who can provide guidance, support, and insight throughout their refereeing journey.
This initiative is open to all Karate BC members who identify as female or gender-diverse and are interested in becoming involved in refereeing, developing their officiating skills, or supporting the next generation of referees within our community.
Participants will be paired based on experience level, goals, and availability. Whether you are new to refereeing or an experienced official interested in mentoring others, we encourage you to get involved.
Through this initiative, Karate BC continues its commitment to equity, inclusion, leadership development, and the long-term growth of officiating within the province.
To express interest in participating in the WIR Mentorship Program, please complete the sign-up form below:

If you have any questions regarding the program, please contact: Vania Amani

We look forward to supporting and strengthening the future of refereeing within the Karate BC community.
