Here is your chance to get 3 of the multisport modules listed for Competition Development training!
Our own Rodney Hobson will be offering these multisport modules. These modules will be offered on the Family Day long weekend in the Lower Mainland (Port Coquitlam at #3-3160 Westwood Street). This is an in-person weekend. Bring laptops and short extension cords if you need power during the course.
The prerequisite for these courses is 16 years old and black belt (for exemptions, please email coachdev@karatebc.org)
Any workshop materials and other information will be sent closer to the date of the event.
Schedule and Cost:
1. Saturday, February 14th: Performance Planning. 9am-5pm (to be continued on Sunday from 8am-12 pm)

- Reflect on and outline a detailed yearly program structure based on competition opportunities
- Perform a thorough analysis of your sport’s demands at the high performance level
- Appropriately sequence training and development priorities (physical, technical, tactical and psychological) so as to achieve peak performance in your athletes
- Evaluate the ability of your athletes to perform up to their potential in competition
- Performance planning is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED as a prerequisite for Advanced Practice Planning
2. Sunday, February 15th: Advanced Practice Planning. 1pm-6pm

- Examine the impact of daily training sequencing and the manipulations that can affect training outcomes
- Ensure practice plans are consistent with microcycles and phases of which they are part
- Sequence exercises in a practice so that their order is consistent with the research on sequencing
- Develop a plan for training athletic abilities over a microcycle
- Develop a plan for training technical and tactical abilities over a microcycle
- Develop a plan for a microcycle that helps athletes taper before a competition
- As a prerequisite for Advanced Practice Planning STRONGLY RECOMMENDED performance planning
3. Monday, February 16th: Psychology of Performance. 8am-4:30pm
KBC MEMBERS: $115
NON MEMBERS: $125
- Will allow you to:Psychology of PerformanceCompleting
- Help athletes learn to manage distractions and use visualization techniques to prepare themselves technically and tactically for training and competition
- Learn how to work with athletes or teams to identify performance and process goals related to their ability to focus on performance
- Learn debriefing skills that can be used to help athletes assess their performance in both training and competition
