Karate BC announces that Trevor Walmsley has stepped down as Chair of the Referee Committee.
Trevor has been a cornerstone of officiating in British Columbia and beyond. He is one of the few Canadians to hold both a WKF Kumite Referee A licence and a WKF Kata Judge A licence, and he currently serves on the Pan American Karate Federation Referee Commission. Over the years, he has guided countless officials through certification clinics, led referee development in B.C., and represented our province on the national and international stage. His recognition as Sport BC’s Official of the Year highlights the respect and esteem he has earned in our sport community.
We are deeply grateful for Trevor’s leadership, dedication, and countless hours of service. While he will be missed in this role, we look forward to seeing him at future events.
We are also pleased to share that Rob Walker will serve as Interim Chair of the Referee Committee. Rob brings years of experience as both a former Referee Committee member and former Referee Development Coordinator. With his expertise and commitment, the committee is in excellent hands moving forward.
The Board thanks both Trevor and Rob for their outstanding service and leadership.
