Dear Karate BC Members,
Karate BC is inviting applications for Junior Referee positions at the 2026 BC Winter Games in Trail, BC (February 25 – March 1). This is a unique opportunity for new or returning junior referees to gain valuable experience, build confidence in their refereeing skills, and contribute meaningfully to the success of the Games.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Age 14 – 18 as of the first day of the Games
- Able to complete certification requirements before and during the Games
- Previous BCWG athlete experience is an asset
- Current referee certification is an asset, but not required
Availability:
- BCWG Referee Clinic: Saturday, January 31, 2026 – Vancouver (location TBD, with virtual option)
- BC Winter Games: February 25 – March 1, 2026 (Trail, BC)
- Travel days: February 25 and March 1, 2026
Additional Information:
- No fees for transportation, accommodation, or meals during the Games
- Referees will travel on official Games transportation and stay in assigned lodging
- Positions are limited; selections will be based on Zone and demographic representation
- Deadline for applications is December 31, 2025
