2002 KARATE BC NEW TOURNIE FORMAT
Citing the fact that there are now many opportunities for developing athletes to compete, such as the Sato Cup, the Steveston International, Vancouver Cup, CSKA event and others, the leadership of Karate BC has decided that the annual Spring and Fall event will now feature only advanced divisions.

The 14/15 year Advanced/Black will be the lowest category for the upcoming spring Championships April 13th at Cap. College. As well the Annual Awards Banquet will be replaced with an informal social. It will now be a one day event highlighting the highest level of competition. Another change is that the finals will be held in the evening along with exciting demonstrations.

It is hoped the new format will attract media and sponsors.
